Norman was 23 years old.

Norman spent most of his army life in Egypt and Palestine.

17th/21 Lancers.
Photo taken in 1974 at Gosford Castle, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland.
Tony was 27.
Tony's army career took him to many places in the world.

Sorry I'm only just catchign up with Blogland after a week of flu and then a week of catching up in the real world.
That is so beautiful Midge and such a lovely tribute.. One of the Canadians who went to the Second World War and brought home a dear English wife was my Uncle James. He has gone on but she still lives in St. Martins.. (because it reminds her so much of England)
So thankful for our freedom today...

Wonderful tribute Midge. My father was also in Egypt and Palestine for most of the war but in the RAF - they must have cooked in those uniforms in the Egyptian heat!
I managed to get a class full of 5 year olds to remain silent for the one minute at 11 today - brilliant.
