Teignmouth Folk Festival June 2011

Nearing Mid Summer..

Mid Summer means Morris Dancing

Three kinds so you can take your pick as to which one you like best.

Everyone was having a great time, we had to join in.

Soggibottom Cottage is still here, slightly quieter than it has been. We never thought for one moment we would miss Amie's resounding snores, a dish of ice cream doesn't quite have the same appeal as it did..
Thank you so much for all cards and mail we have had over the last 17 days.
We never realised Amie Soto Blossom knew so many from every corner of the world.
She was a popular little dog around the village where we live and one of the happiest little dogs that you would ever wish to meet. Loved by everyone, most of all loved and adored by all at Soggibottom.

 Frank

and Mew are still here.

We have been out and about slightly more than usual over the last few days, so have lots of happy snaps to share during the coming weeks.

This is a happy guy that waves to passing cars around Torbay. He's become quite a local celebrity, so much so, he now opens fetes. When he allows himself time off from waving at passing traffic..

We also went to our local Zoo to help some that live there from getting too bored.

I'm never to sure when going to a Zoo, who is watching who.

Nearer home, our tomatoes are starting to turn red and are nearly ready to pick.

Caroline  still has a few days to catch up, so the tomato challenge isn't over yet.

Where ever you are on Mid Summer;s Day even if it's raining, have a fantastic day.
No one start counting down to Christmas just yet.

We still have places to go and people to see.

Lovely to read the blog - I know that Amie was a great friend and that you will miss her for a long long time - maybe forever, but her memory and love will linger on! Summer is rolling along isn't it and there is always lots to do outside and around the beautiful areas of Britain, your neck of the woods is always nice to see, thanks for showing us Soggibottom day by day. Lots of luv to Frank and Mew. Upton upon Severn will be busy this coming weekend we have the Upton Jazz Festival! Yeah.
Have a good week x x

Glad you've dodged the showers to get out and about!
I have one lone tomato that might be on the turn soon, but the rest are still flowering. One plant is almost as tall as me,so I am expecting Super-tomatoes....eventually!
Now if the challenge had been for peas, courgettes, potatoes, cucumbers or lettuce, I might have something to show for it!

Caroline, I think we are about equal :-) Let's say SNAP and be done :-)
I do however have a very good 2nd certificate for you ...... :-)

would I do that, before you say yes I would...... :-) ho hum.... thinking about it :-)

Thank you DJp. Ames, really did surprise us, she seemed to know so many people, some that had never had a dog, yet loved Amie.
There is no such thing as a dog in a million... they are all "one off's". Make every day count :-) X X X

Where did Morris dancing come from? Love to watch dancing - bet you know which kind is my favorite! Glad you're getting out and about.

Yes Ames will be missed, but most of all by the ones she loved best.

I think it is going to take a while for us to get used to the fact that Amie is no longer with us.

As for the morris dancers, well my hubby used to do it many years ago. Whenhe was young and hanging around in pubs. I do wish I had seen it but it was long before my time.

Pleased you had a nice time at the festival.

We don't have Morris dancing here. Not too many people would even know what it was LOL. I do have an internet friend who is a Morris dancer but she very rarely tells anyone because she says most people think she's barmy....Oh well:)

Glad you're doing ok and your little furbaby was definitely very popular across the globe!

Wonderful videos! Fun stuff! 8-)

I know you'll feel the absence of your Amie for a long while yet, and you've probably heard this already, maybe many times, but time always does heal...

Love the Gorilla bit!!! LOL! 8-)

I quess people notice that you are missing something when you and Tony go out and about now. God's creatures great and small. I love giraffes. So beautiful. And I have heard of Morris dancing, but tomorrow is the first day of summer here, so how is it mid-summer there?

The festival looks like fun. I owe you a nice long email, but I'm so tired tonight that it wouldn't make sense. I promise to write after a good night's sleep.

I'm so sorry to hear about Amie, she was SUCH a character, I'm not surprised that you've had messages from all over the world. I think the way you shared her with everyone meant a lot to lots of people too.
Thinking of you in your quieter cottage.

Hugs Midge.
Great work on the tomatoes! Mine are green at the mo but the lettuce is ready.

Oxfordshire have unblackened faced Morris Men. It was strange when I saw the blackend face sort for the 1st time. Matron doesn't let me out often. ROFL
