A few days ago on a balmy evening here in Devon,
Bats were flying over the rooftops.
Enjoying the unreal view of a red sky from Sahara sands brought our way by the wind.
Now it seems we are expecting something totally different to blow in on the wind.
The Grimvotn volcano ash. It's a bigger eruption than the volcano that erupted on Iceland last year.
Air space was closed for days.
Flights in Iceland were grounded at the weekend. The ash is due to hit Scotland tonight.
Fantastic looking pics these might be.
We wouldn't like to be in Iceland at the moment.

The red sky was so pretty - but that volcano! YIKES! No, wouldn't like to be in Iceland.
I love the bands of the sunset, that is so beautiful.
I hope you don't get too much ash coming your way.
Debbie
love the red sky
Oh, such pretty skies. We sure hope the volcanic eruption doesn't cause the turmoil it did the last time.

Oooh I just saw the news - poor Iceland is covered in ash!! Let's hope people and all creatures are safe!
The skies are amazing!! Love the vivid red! take care

Beautiful pictures. I almost want to capture those colors. What is the earth up to? Lots of fearful weather and happenings about.
My word, Midge.. what next? I loved your red sky pics but that ash does not turn my crank..
Will you get it too?
Take care...
The sky is just beautiful, but that volcano is something I wouldn't want to be anywhere near!

Let's hope we don't have the same chaos as last year, although the skies were something else!
Beautiful sunset skies Midge!
Oh! Yes, it is almost expected this to happen since it's a year or volcano eruptions and earthquakes!
What a beautiful pink sky. It looked like it bathed everything in a pink light. Yes I've been listening to the news on the latest volcanic ash grounding planes in Scotland. It feels as if the world is having a lot more seismic activity at the moment.
What beautiful red skies. Our sunrises and sunsets have been rather dull recently and of course now we're all watching the skies for more storms.
That's quiet a lot of ash heading your way. Stay safe my friend.
Great red sky photos! Awesome looking!!
Great volcano photos too, but what a problem they create! I hadn't heard about another eruption as our TV cable is out for some reason right now...? Thanks!
The ash in Grimsvotn is coarser than and not as likely to cause danger as it falls to the ground faster and doesn't stay as long in the air as in the Eyjafjallajokull eruption."
Thanks Greenthumb gardening :-)x x x
WOW! Great pics!
