One we couldn't catch
Trip over to Perranporth in Cornwall this morning.
One hour and 25 minutes, one of our best times.
The car above could probably do it in half the time.
Our car is a year old but, we had no chance of catching this up, so I had to be quick with the camera. The only thing wrong with the car above.... should have been red.
Who has a Ferrari and it isn't red!
It was a very grey trip over Bodmin Moor, always pleased to see this sign.

There are mice and mice
I have just been reading Squirrel Chat's blog and thought it a great time to post Franks latest effort. Little playmate friend he must have brought in last night.
Wow we are lucky. Although he did bring home a young white rabbit once.
The mouse on top of the door is allowed to stay, but Franks scuttler friends live to fight another day if they are lucky enough and we catch them. This little guy we put near the stream, without Frank looking.
Indian Cotton
Three weeks ago this was hung up in an Indian market, today it is on the Soggibottom washing line. Strange how some things never travel far and some things have loads of air miles.
I have a great idea for this material, but won't show you until Becca is home. You have a few months to wait. I won't forget to post it when the time comes.

A New Way To Clean Windows
We were in Exeter a few weeks ago, I had forgotten all about the photo's that we took that day.
Cathedral Green in the middle of Exeter is normally very busy, but aw... blessed.... hardly anyone around.
Except for the guy cleaning the windows..... well, I think they were cleaning windows, think it rained on the way home. Isn't it always the way.............

5th of the 5th tag
Tagged again..... I don't mind.
It is a welcome change at the moment.
The funniest thing to see (which you can't) is my face as I go into the photo file.
Is it going to be printable or NOT!
Phew.... this one is..... joy............
This was taken as we walked Amie along the Jurassic Coast on a mild December Day. Maybe why it looks strangely blue. The coastline is still eroding and walking along this particular beach can be different from the norm. You shouldn't walk that close to the rocks, just in case.... hum.....just as well because if anything should fall as I walked near I would probably just stand there in disbelief
I spotted the root of a fallen tree and at the time thought it sad, o.k.... I also thought it made a good "snap". Does anyone use the word "snap" anymore?
So here you are Susan, 5th file, 5th photo.
The Madmerles would love this beach, never know they might even meet Amie Soto Blossom and the two old fossils who walk with her.
Now I have to tag others
5 others who open up their 5th file and post their 5th photo ...... he... he........ who.... would love to be tagged.
I can't really tag SparkyBrand or Rebecca's way round, as they just aren't here at the moment.
How about, let me see ......Tell you the next posting.....

Having a nose around
Water went down guys....... sometimes it does, the man made bank has held again. But never takes to feel complacent about it.... today we woke up to a clear blue sky, river back to normal.
In the meantime the bad weather has given me the opportunity to do other things other than paint walls.
The nose you see is from the "new" bear, but as it is unfinished can't let you see yet.

Water update at 11 p.m.
Why is the cottage called SOGGIBOTTOM?
The water is rising today.
The playing field floods (at this stage it is just a puddle). The water level changes from minute to minute, although we have our man made bank between the park and Soggibottom Cottage to contain the water.......
We are on flood watch.
As the amount of water tries to flow under the park foot bridge, it spills out into the already flooded park, up the path to arrive at our front door.
Hopefully the bank will do as it is supposed to do and contain the water in the park.
More rain to come tonight. ......... Decorating has really been put on hold..............
This is the bridge at the front of the cottage, still has a way to go before we panic.
The name Soggibottom was suposed to make you smile as well!

Chocoholic food for Becca
By now Becca has started to have chocolate with drawl symptoms.

Jacob's Cardy of many colours
AH................ at last I have finished Jake's cardy....
He wanted pink "bits".
I am sure I have knitted this twice as,
I messed up putting it together a few days ago.
How was it that a simple thing took me ages to do?
Still waiting on the weather for our decorating,
the sandbags are on standby ready for the storm headed our way.
I have a million and one things to keep me busy till the weather gets better.
As soon as the onion bear is ready Kat, you will be the first to see it!
Sewing stage is over, now comes the interesting STUFFING IT bit....

Haldon Hill as it should look!
Hi Guy's
Yes we should have been painting today...
We should have had a brand new back door (double glazed).
Should have been putting in new down lights to our kitchen.
WEATHER!!!!
Anyone that has seen the news today, will understand why we didn't..
Why I have tried to catch up with my sewing needle..... and knitting needles.
Why does this Country grind to a halt?
Snow................
To my darling Steve and our lovely Becca....
Be cool..............................X X X X

SNOW AT SOGGIBOTTOM
It has been at least nine years since we have seen snow at Soggibottom.
We have had the "light stuff" down here.
How could we not share it with everyone.
The great thing about it......
It has improved the garden....
Veggie garden looks great!
Always an up side....................
Heaven... I can finish my book tomorrow and
not feel guilty I should be doing something else.
( The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton.......good book!)
