Cruisin Florida

I love receiving postcards.
This one is from Florida (obviously).
The Micky Mouse chasers are due back next week.
HEY GUY'S, WE GOT IT.

Is the art of sending postcards while your away on holiday a thing of the past ?
NO !
Because we had another this morning, this is from Wendy and John.
Nearly the right address, but as there is only one cottage called Soggibottom in the village it found us. Thank you Wendy.
This is The Gatehouse, Fleet. Dumfries and Galloway. I could have taken the photo.

Except I didn't. I do however keep every post card and have done ever since I was eight years old. I'll admit it, there are quite a few stacking up.

If you don't get a chance to send a postcard, calling in as you pass the cottage is even better.

Don't expect Mew to give up her chair that easily.
She likes all the fuss and attention you can give her.

Although, don't let her fool you.

What she really wants to do is reclaim her seat.

The toll for coming into the cottage is that you have your photo taken.
Ray, Jane and George.... it was good to see you.

I'm terribly poor at getting round to posting cards when on holiday.

I think we should still send postcards and letters to each other. I love getting good mail, don't you?

I used to love them as a kid and my oldest brother always sent me cards from the places he was stationed at. I still have the ones he sent.

Well I'm going to have to find some postcards! I rarely see them anymore. What an adorable little boy!

I buy the postcards but they rarely get sent as I'm usually home before they are. Instead the postcards often go with presents when I am posting them.

Yes lovely to have visitors and to go visiting.

For anyone who doesn't understand it says Good to see you at Soggibottom, my Spanish is little, I don't speach Portuguese. But pleased to see you... or there abouts. Aren't we all glad for Google translate. :-)

Poor Mew - it's only for a short while.
I have gotten postcards from the little ones who travel the world and they are treasured but they usually get to me after they have arrived home!
Where do you keep your postcards? In a box or an album?

I used to send loads every time I went away but come to think of it, I can't remember last time I sent some. I also haven't received a postcard for ages, I only realised it when I read this ... I have therefore resolved that next time I go away, I will send some, in the hope that it will be reciprocated. This is a tradition that needs to be resurrected.

I go on holiday with good intentions but always seem to forget the address book! Naughty, as I love to receive postcards so should really reciprocate.

We usually end up bringing our cards home with us and handing them out...shamefacedly. Why? We forget to post the things.

Glad to see you had a nice family weekend.

Hector and Bonny too!

I think getting something in the mail other than junk mail or bills is a real treat.
That speical touch of writing the old fashioned way is kinda gone.
Post cards are cool!
