Back to Soggibottom - deer deer deer

It's only in the Summer that light really comes into the sitting room in the cottage, We try to make the most of it and have crystals at the window. About eight in the evening on a Summer's evening the ceiling dances with light.

Stanley and the otter

We have had an otter and her cub in the river outside before, but to be honest we haven't got a Stanley the Raccoon. SHAME!

Monkey's turn

And Amie who went to the hairdressers today.

Bird with beak

They do say that every picture tells a story.
Meet the cheekiest bird we have ever met. Plus some of his babies.

Do not feed the animals. This bird obviously couldn't read......
In case you wonder. He ate more of our lunch than we did. Keep clicking this week as there are tigers and bears too.

One I didn't make

We have been to the Zoo.
Not great about animals being caged, but thought Dartmoor Zoo very sympathetic to the animals they look after. Well done Dartmoor Zoo. We had a great day out and would recommend a trip here to anyone who visits the Southwest. Here are just a few of the pictures today, but keep clicking and see what else there is during the week. The bears were the first we visited, obviously................

Same picture, same bear

I really liked this bear. Meaning I really wanted to keep it. TUT....!

My palm tree

We've been out in the garden as the sun was shining. My palm has flowered, which pleases me as I grew it from seed about ten years ago. Wow, maybe I can grow some more.

Haven't had bears on here for a while

This bear sits over the stairwell in the cottage. I quite like her looking at you as you walk down the stairs. I made her out of scraps of string mohair left over from a bear made for an animal sheltars open day. I liked her so much I kept her. Promise there will be more bears, I have orders for bears - people are waiting for bears - I promise to start bearing in the morning.

Amie doesn't do bears. So I'm on my own with my orders.

Midsummer at Labrador Bay

As Amie went to Stonehenge last week. Today she spent the day Labrador spotting

Long road home

We love to see everyone when we go to Surrey to visit, but sometimes the 303 can seem to be a very long road home. Especially when Amie is snoring in the back of the car.

Not a sleeping policeman

Driving along the 303 on a busy Sunday going up to Surrey always gives value for money petrol wise.
So many things, places and people to see. Amie in her favorite place for long journeys. Blackdown hills in Somerset have great views seen from the parcel shelf at the rear of the car.
A police car turning onto the road in front is better than a sleeping policeman/road hump or speed trap. Really slows the traffic down. Good for them....................

time to dig up spuds

We dug up some potatoes today. Yum. Yum. Not just us smacking our lips , we also disturbed ants and the blackbird had a great time raiding the nest.

Frankie de tabby

As you might notice Frank isn't a tabby cat. But his mum was, his dad was a large fluffy black cat who used to roam around Godalming in Surrey. Frank roams around Soggibottom Cottage, thoroughly spoilt, large and fluffy. We know the blue birds fledged, but we also know at least one of them didn't get very far. It had a good burial under the apple tree. Photo's of the culprit and some recent ones of the back garden. It's only his white whiskers that make him look innocent. Believe us HE IS NOT.
