Goat and Onions (dyed mohair with onions) Part Two

I always have a sinking feeling when putting mohair into hot water.

If you haven't seen Shaun my kitchen timer before, here he is.
Watching over my simmering mohair for 10 minutes.

Blog of wet, hot mohair in the sink.
Rinse clear of the onion dye with warm/cold water.

Not dry yet but different.
Now you will have to wait till it's dry and see how the bear turns out.
When I get around to making it.

That's cool. Can you dye fabric, too? Would red onion skins work like the cooking onions do? I'm fascinated, I have to try this!

Works great on mohair, mine is still drying.
I could have used a hair dryer to blow dry it,but instead it is infront of the fire.
Hopefully post the results as the dry mohair will look lighter.

The finished color is beautiful, Midge. I've only ever done anything like this with tea, on a white tablecloth, lacy thing, that was too white for me. I like it much better now, a soft off color. Can't wait to see your bear!
