Wet Start to a New Year.

After the New Year storms lots of water surrounds the cottage today.

There might be water around, but at least the stream beside the cottage although flowing fast is lower than we have seen it before when there has been a heavy storm. . No defences needed to keep the cottage dry against flooding at the moment.

Freya's park walk was wetter than usual today.

Instead of her usual romp around without her lead Freya was kept safe and under control. Your never too sure where the river ends and the park begins when the water from surrounding hills heads down into the valley onto the flood plain.

I had so many other photo's to put on here, mud and water weren't on the list.

A photo of Big Ben one minute past midnight at the start of the New Year.

London's sky line lite by fireworks.

The third of January, the New Year seems ages ago.

There is still some colour around, we've eaten all the nuts but there are still a few apples and tangerines.

Even a rainbow.

At least one of us loves all the water.

Where ever you are in the U.K, keep safe and dry.
What a start to a New Year !

Gosh your stream looks very angry and fast flowing! But yay that you're all ok! And good for Freya enjoying herself!

The rains and wind kept me most awake! I thought my windows were seriously going to cave in and shatter! Good grief!

Here's hoping tomorrow will be a lot calmer! At least you had a lovely rainbow - that's lovely.

Oh I really enjoyed the London fireworks (from the comfort of a sofa! LOL!) Very good!!

Happy New Year!! Take care

Hard when the water is like that, we haven't had too many bad rains, so lucky. Mostly cold now, so sticking inside.

Nice stream to meander like that...
We have wild & wooleys they call
"Washes" here in Arizona.

There's NO Way we will be wading in or near one when they "run".

Perhaps some puddle jumping afterwards.. but not yet..We're still too new to such events.

Your pictures are Fantastic...even the water up your socks one!!))
Happy New Year!

That is a lot of water. I sure wouldn't want my four pups out in it, muddy feet for sure. Smart to keep Freya Rose tethered, those waters can be very tricky.

The holidays take so much preparation and yes, they are gone so quickly. Hope you and yours have a happy and healthy year ahead.

So windy here yesterday I thought I'd end up flying the dog like a kite! Lots of flooded bits and fences blown down but then at lunchtime we had calm and sunshine...wierd!

Soggibottom Bear looks very dapper in his suit. I hope the rain has ended. It's a tad cold here but it should warm up by Friday.
It's a good thing to keep Freya on a leash with all that running water.

As long as you're safe and dry, let it storm. Happy new year.

Happy New Year my friend! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I got so lazy with it toward the end of last year but I'm going to do better this year...or at least try!

How wonderful all that rain looks, can I come over and play with your fur babies in it? We're in the 80's here and it's really hard to cozy up with a cup of hot tea in this!

Anyway, here's to a wonderful 2012!
