Champagne Bubbles really do go up your nose.

Autumn might be here, at least the start of it, we still have a few sunny days down here in the South West of England.

Visiting Dartmouth there was a distinct absence of people yesterday.. We weren't on a day trip or jaunt, we have visitors at the cottage that  had never been to Dartmouth.

A return visit too. There is nothing better than enjoying  the company of friends.

Playing silly devils with the camera around the shops.

This is a shop I wanted to visit. The Harbour Bookshop in Dartmouth is closing down.

It was opened in 1951 by Christopher Robin  Milne. The real Christopher Robin of Winnie the Pooh fame.

The Internet has huge book stores, why bother going out to a book shop ?

I like book shops, I love to browse and read before I buy. As much as I love the Internet and how it's made the whole world a lot smaller, it's played a great part in this shops demise. I will miss book shops that are closing just like The Harbour Bookshop because of the Internet.

Thankfully, some things still stay the same, the taste of real French Champagne for one.

Good friends another.

What ever your up to this weekend, have a great time. Champagne bubbles really do go up your nose. Not that Freya would know.

Freya is out and about on her blog. You can find her at The Cat Flap Cavalier.
She has her own photo's to show you. Here is one that I thought you might like to see on Soggibottom.

Our window seat seems to be full again.

We recently lost our bookshop for the same reason. I love to browse thru book shops and miss it terribly.

I also love drinking champagne.

Glad to see the window seat being put to such good use. Isn't it nice to sit and watch the world outside the window?

Love looking around book shops. Not a fan of Champagne though. The window seat photo is great.

Too bad about the bookshop. Some changes aren't so good. Love the pictures.

OH NOooooo! Not Christopher Robins book shop??? Oh Bother! This is too SAD:( Not a good thing at ALL.

But i thought that photo of Freya next to what looked like Toy boats; from MY perspective; was kind of funny:>

Give a toast to Winnie the Pooh for me please!

Freya sure has been growing, she is becoming a little Miss. We hit the coast today but it was crowded, lot of people enjoying the day, sunny with a cool breeze, perfect day.

I agree that it's very sad to see bookshops close:( We have a used bookstore close by that I keep meaning to visit but all our Borders are shutting down. Same with the movie rental stores. Oh well, a sign of the times I guess!

So sad how all the bookstores are closing, especially the small and quaint ones. We are really losing the personal touch.

I love book stores, but I very seldom get to one. The internet is my book store. A lot of my friends have Kindles, but I love holding a book. Lovely to have company, especially when you are sitting on the window seat. :)

How lovely to have Ayla there again! What a beautiful girl she is. I'm incredibly sad to see that bookstore close before I had a chance to see it in person...I'm glad to have the internet, but it's played quite a part in the demise of many businesses here too, including national bookstores. So sad.

Freya is just as beautiful as ever...and she fits in the window seat with Frank quite well!

Gee, I hope the little girl didn't spend too much money at the book shop. Maybe just something for a little nephew? Hi Ayla and David. Real French champagne...
We had a dear old bookshop on Toronto's main street close down years ago because of the big box bookstores and the Internet.
Freya is darling and she looks perfect in the window seat with Frank and Bear.

Shame aboiut the bookshop - nothing better than browsing through proper books where you can see what you are getting.
Lovely to see Freya and Frank have hammered out a peace treaty!

Grr - just spent ages typing a really good comment and now I have to do it all over again - couldn't get into my google sign in thingee. Grr.

Just wanted to say that I am really sad that the bookshops are disappearing from our lives so very quickly - I remember spending many Happy Hours browsing around and enveloping the atmosphere that is only found in a bookshop. Sad.

Champagne bubbles do get up your nose and they are awful - hard to remember, not had Champagne since May 28th. (Sons wedding)

I am so happy to see Frankie and Freya on the windowseat, it is definitely looking quite full again these days.

Take care of each other. Luv and hugs

Lucky never used to sit in the window, but every now and again she gets up there and looks out the window. When its hot she gets the draught and you never know when a cat might pass.
I still like books too. However I must admit I buy online, mainly cos I want english books and can't get them here. Enjoy your sunny days cos winter is just around the corner now.

I love proper old fashioned bookshops. A local one here has open fires in Winter. Waterstones is a bit pale in comparisson with just modern latest releases in. I think things like Kindles have something to do with it too.

Fab having visitors and champagne. :-)

Love your F bookends- Frank and Freya.

I love going to the bookstore and will never stop! I have just gotten a Kindle and must say I love holding it versus a book, love how I can change the type size and take it anywhere. BUT I still need to go to the bookstore to look it over and see if I want it.

Freya is looking fantastic. AND Frank, face it you *luv* Miss Freya don't you.

I also love book shoppes, I love to look in them. Our town's little bookstore had to close because of Barnes and Noble, they are a huge book chain in a mall up the highway from us. I like champagne too! LOL
Anything bubbly is good for me!
xxoo

PS Cute cavalier! Very cute! :)

Wow! Tis a very big shame that such a bookstore with that history behind it is closing... 8-(

Looks like you had a wonderful visit with your friends! Champagne and all!!

Freya, in the boat photo, looks like she is visiting the miniatures of Madurodam in Holland... lol! I had to take a closer look... 8-)

Will they be fed, watered, and cared for properly.
Perhaps, the way to go will probably be yes. We turn off the TV.

The decor on the inside of the restaurant is absolutely
beautiful. Local country clubs are offering trivia fun for as little as
forty dollars per couple. The food is decent and the drink specials
on Tuesdays include $2.
