Summer weather

Wasn't it about 30% in London today?

I posted the seagulls to remind us how different it was only a few days ago.

Come to sunny Devon, holiday by the sea and bring your bucket and spade, Sou'wester, wellies, warm clothing and hot water bottle.

We can't go out to count the potatoes today.

Most Cavalier King Charles snore

It's a fact speak to Cavalier King Charles owners and they say "THEY SNORE".

The older she gets the louder she gets.

Amie excels herself, even with five teeth missing.

Tubby Turtle

Really wish I had had a go at this, because I thought it funny.
Do you know how quick turtles are in the water?

Sunday Steamer

During the Summer the tourist steam train passes the cottage.
The cottage used to be on the Newton Abbot to Torquay road until the railway arrived and cut the village in two. Shame really but it means that in 2008 we live in a traffic free road.

Old Wheels Club

Thought you would like to share the great morning we had today at Paignton Green. Amie went with us as she likes cars.

She ended up in the beer tent with a bottle of water as it was so hot.

Here she is..................
Incase your wondering, we were talking about the running cost of the car and how great Amie would look in a pair of goggles and Snoppy scarf.

Amie has moved the boat to Brixham Harbour

Brixham is a 20 minute drive away, yet we haven't been here for ages.
Beautiful day in Devon today and lucky us, it was Pirate Day, music while we walked around. We also saw a seal in the water, but he was too quick for us to "snap" him with the camera.
Many thanks to Brixham Town Cryer and his Lady who posed so I could add them on here tonight.

This one isn't Amie's

Love driving over to Cornwall and Bodmin Moor. So many interesting things to see.

Taken out of the front window...

Taken from the back window.

Miles of traffic behind us.

WARNING - wear eye protection

My mate Brunnel

O.k.
So the last photo posting was taken in 1997, THE LAST CENTURY. But, I sometimes just seem to be in the right place at the right time.

More black and white and Tiddles the cat.

While looking for old photo's for Mark's Birthday Blog last week we came across this, it's one of us in our old back garden. Before the comments come thick and fast, yes, they did have colour film then.

"Up Country"

Love going past Stonehenge on the way to Surrey. It's one of Amie's favorite stops as she looks at the sheep in the field. Leave the meaning to your imagination.

We don't always park in the car park but in a side lane. Lucky really, as last Sunday there seemed to be something going on that we didn't know about.

If you ever use our parking spot, don't forget to feed the birds.

Black, white and a splash of runner bean

Love this picture.
We have had a white wall over the bed ever since we moved in. It's been waiting for the right thing to go into the space. That's one of things I love about my daughter, it might sound like gobbely gook when I discribe what I want, but she understands it.

We also noticed we have a blackberry in the garden. Even we think 15th July is slightly early.

Oh.... can't not show you, the runner beans.

Karina's conservartory

Karina is very proud of her conservatory, unfortunately it hasn't been put up yet and is in pieces. Great background shots will always be hard to get until it goes up.

She knew they were around somewhere.

Black and White

This is Karina's art. She drew this when she was about 12 years old and I remember finding it under her bed while I was clearing out what seemed to be the black hole of Calcutta known as her bedroom . I kept it for years before having it framed. Even now she tells me I've hung it upside down.

Becka's art. She gave me for Christmas and it used to hang on the kitchen wall in the cottage. Now, she's BORROWED it back for her exhibition.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARK, 27!! GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!

The photo was taken in 1986, (the last century) in our back garden in Surrey. The sun always shone on the 10th of July. Lashings of jelly, ice cream and pop.

Soggibottom: It's Mark's birthday tomorrow.

Guess who is 27

Mark Vaile is 27 years old tomorrow. You know what delights parents best?

To embarass their kids.

Now wouldn't you just love to see "kid" photo's of Mark.

Steven, MARK , Karina and yep that's us sitting down.

Mark always had a "thing" about red cars.

He was always good with people older than himself.

And always a Super Mark.
