Watered down kitchen highlights

I want to remember my kitchen as it used to look, just after we last decorated it.

Doesn't look quite the same today.
Mr leaky pipe fixer can't come until the 10th March to repair it.
Although it has been measured and photographed ready for the big day.
Hopefully number one option will work. By passing new pipes from outside through a hole and capping the leak. Number two option is to dig up the floor and drill.

All the things that have happened in the world lately and yesterday in New Zealand, a leaking under groundwater pipe in the cottage is minuscule.
Huge to us, but not life threatening. Just wet and disrupted. Soggibottom really is living up to her name. It's going to take a while, but eventually everything will go back to normal.

Other lives and other people aren't so lucky. Where ever you are in the world, be safe.

That was my thought for today, my life is charmed compared to what other people are going through, so I am counting my blessings. Love your cabinets. I want to redo ours someday and do simple farm house type.

Fingers crossed option No.1 will be the solution to your problem. You should have called the cottage Drybottom....
You are right - if a leaky pipe is the worst that's happened to you this week, it's not that bad.

I was just watching some coverage on NZ and I feel horrible for those people. Having been thru some quakes myself I can't even imagine one that traumatic.

Your kitchen is lovely, so cozy and warm:) Good luck on that leaky pipe!

As you point out yourself, natural disasters do indeed put our domestic ones into a sharper perspective and makes the temporary inconvenience much easier to put up with. All the same, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that number 1 option works.

Your kitchen is so lovely. What a shame to have to dig it up. I do hope you can bypass most of the problem.

We, too are thinking about the people in NZ and everywhere else where Mother Nature has been on a rampage.

Stay safe, my friend.

Wow, that kitchen looks gorgeous. I do hope that it stays that way and they can fix the leaky pipe without demolition.
The world is certainly in an upheaval these days. It's calm over here.

Yes, the earthquake was just so devastating, especially with it coming so quickly after the one in the fall. We are keeping all those who lost loved one and who are suffering in our thoughts and prayers.

We hope the leaky pipe fixer can repair your problem without creating a lot more work.

Your kitchen is so warm, cozy and welcoming - even if it's a bit soggy! I'm still praying that the pipe can be capped and the whole place won't be torn up....ugh.

Yep...we know all about leaky pipes here too. Hope option works for you. We had to redo the whole bathroom last year because of a leak in the vanity and under the bath. Insurance would only pay for half the bathroom, the side it leaked on, so it was either have a hodge podge bathroom with neaw and old tiles or redo the whole lot. Over here they can also run pipes through in the roof cavity which ours are. Not good when it leaked hot water from the ceiling fan one year. Ho hum...the joys of home ownership...but as you said so minor when compared to what others have lost lately in this part of the world, floods, cyclones and now the NZ earthquake.

Your kitchen is lovely and warm! Hopefully, they won't have to dig it up, but given the great attitude of your post, I've no doubt that you'll make the best of it and come back with an equally beautiful design.
