INSURED ... flood...

Yep, here it is, a picture of our window, not being there.
Last Friday it was the coldest day of the year, I think tonight is going to top that.

Well, when your home is flooded, that's exactly how is is.
A real dog's dinner.
Over the last few months, it has been hard trying to get back to any kind of normality. BUT IN THE END YOU DO... Here at Soggibottom Cottage, it is still going to take us into Feb/March,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, probably longer.
Over the last few months I have lost my temper with too many people. I am so sorry..
Not their fault, because you have to have a flooded home to understand exactly how it is.

It isn't pleasant that 's for sure.......

We didn't have to stay here, we could have moved out.. BECAUSE WE WERE INSURED ..Our insurance policy said so.
Our insurance policy said lots of things.

BUT...... Hum. I really want to say who they were...

In reality, we live at the bottom of a hill. near to a park..
The park has a stream.

We have a very old Frankie de tabby and a very young Freya Rose Blossom... HUM...

We have dried out Soggibottom cottage, for all those that have visited us. SHE WAS WORTH IT..
We love our home.. We love this cottage........

To all the guys that have visited over that last few weeks, We just want to say a huge thank you.

From Phil  the floor, to Dave the fire, to Tom, the window guy  who arrived here at 8 a.m, on a very cold and frosty morning so part of our furniture could come in, via the window.. AH, THANK YOU.................. Not forgetting the furniture guys .... ,.
There are kind people around..................

If you ever need a place to live.. come to Devon, in the South West of England..(might have to have a scuba diving course first)...... Thanks to STEVE...for helping us over the last few weeks to get our cottage in order.
.
Most of all there are special friends on blogger. Ah, now, I really do not want to embarrass anyone by giving out names..... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE..............
Thanks guys.. you have made the last few months bearable,  better. By being there !

Oh my gosh, holy s@#%, you have had enough of the water. AND to see the cottage without it's window - it really put your situation into perspective! I hope, hope, hope that it is the last of the flood for this year!! You have been very good through all of this - you deserved to lose your temper!! Hang in there - sending dry thoughts your way!

And we love Soggibottom too. Yes its your home, but we have fallen in love with it- and with you.
So much of your soul you have put into your home.. So much love and passion. We understand how you would not want to leave.
We are so glad things are coming together a little at a time- step by step-
Thank goodness for all that have helped you.
All of you have had way too much to bear, yet you keep on.

Is that you in the yellow hat? Now if my home flooded as much as yours has - I would be mad and a bit harsh too. We all make mistakes and it is hard to handle stress. I am sorry you have to go through all this. Your home is pretty.

So glad you all are ok. It has to be nerve racking to experience the flooding over and over. Still sending you good thoughts and a whole lot of hugs!

From someone who always looks on the bright side, no window but I see no water in your yard, that is good news, lol. I sure hope you are set for the winter, and you can start using your new fireplace.

You are certainly entitled to lose your temper through all this - I would too! So glad to see the cottage slowly returning to being a home. No more sitting on the floor for you!!

Oh dear, we hope the window is replaced soon and you can get some good heat. We think of you often and wonder how you manage to keep on with all these woes.

I'll just keep praying that the insurance comes through like they should and the water dries up for good this time. My heart goes out to you. No floods here, but lost a house in a fire and the recovery part is hell! Warm, dry wishes for you, hubby, Frankie and Freya! We love you all!

I hope that's the end of the flooding. I can't imagine how much you've suffered through, and don't know if I could laugh through any of it. Love is what's holding you together, I guess. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm with whoever said she would have lost more than her temper, lol. So very strange to see Soggibottom without her window! I perfectly understand not moving out. Home is home, no matter what. Soggibottom is down but not out - she's still home and I love her too, hopefully one day I'll get to come see you and her.

Love the hat. *G*

OMG...they took the window out to get the furniture in...now that is extreme but it looks like things may be sorta getting there. I'm still sending positive thoughts your way:) {{{{{big hug}}}}}

So glad for an update on your situation. I can't imagine all the anguish going on in your lives. I think a little temper may have been in order. Insurance companies--oh yeah, so easy to take your premium, but so hard to collect from if something happens. I'll continue to keep you all in my prayers. Loves to all.

I’m so sorry about the damage the flood caused to your home. I do hope that it all gets sorted out as soon as possible. I notice you said you “WERE” insured. Does it mean that you were no longer insured when the flood happened? I hope that wasn’t the case!
