Blackberry time.

Blackberries seem a bit scarce here this year..
The harvest hasn't been as plentiful as other years.

Although it might be the case, blackberries are always better on the other side of the hedge.

Is Freya any good at spotting rabbits when she is out in the woods helping to pick blackberries... ?

No good at all, rabbits walk straight past her and she doesn't notice them, but she is especially good at spotting a dog eared, slobbered on tennis ball at the back of the fire place... phew, I thought it was something Frank had dragged in through the cat flap.

Looking innocent isn't enough, looking innocent doesn't mean to say he is.... This time, it really was a tennis ball.
Freya is over at Catflap Cavalier looking cool as usual. Luckily without blackberry juice on her paws.

I will have to go out and see if the blackberries are ripe here. Just love blackberry tart.

My dog will do that too, just sit and stare and I guess we are supposed to read his mind, but it is always a dirty old tennis ball.

Not too many blackberries? What kind of pie will you make then?

We ate out the other day and I had a bowl of the biggest, sweetest blackberries that I've ever tasted. Now I'm so hungry for them, but they're hard to get here and much too expensive. I need to make a trip back to see my family on the east coast and fill up on berries.

I LOVE blackberries and when I can't find them to pick I pay way too much for them.

So glad to be back. Facebook lured me away!

LOL - how in the world did that ball get back there - too funny!

Just as well the ball wasn't there when the fireplace was lit - poo!
No, the blackberries don't seem to be ripening well at all - scraped a pound of them together the other day and made some chutney though.

we find tennis balls hidden all over our house too. stormy thinks its highly amusing to stuff them under the sofa so i have to get off and lift it up for him to go under and fetch em back out. he thinks its a great game and sometimes does it straight after ive sat back down again. the little nutter xxx

Yummy blackberries! We had a few this year, but less than usual. Same thing as you...

As always, beautiful photos!

Our blackberries were delicious this summer. Tomorrow we go huckleberry picking. Mmmmm, I can't wait.

Chopped up tennis ball pie - I'm sorry it's just no competition to a good apple and blackberry version! ;-)

The blackberries aren't as plentiful up here either. The apples and pears are doing well though.

We visited Freya at the Catflap Cavaliers and she was going for a ride in a doll buggy (pram?). She seemed to like it too, with a cute little girl. I could like to do something like that, but think I am too big, but I could dream about it.

Kisses,
Stella
