Stumped

Amie doesn't mind watching Cricket in the park as long as she can take her own ball.

Jake and Amie and the Basingstoke Canal

We are not sure if Jake was very fast on his bike or Amie very slow, as she tried to keep up with him.

Tilly May's Dolly

As you can see I'm not the world's greatest at knitting.
I am the one that knits long arms to cardy's and jumpers, and ends up unintentionally with odd socks and odd gloves. As Tilly isn't quite a year old maybe she won't mind. My friend sent this pattern for me. It looks cute on the pattern, maybe my version looks something like it (or not).
If you want the pattern, just ask. It's free.
Or I can send you endless glove and sock patterns. Just be warned they might not knit up as a pair. (?).

Autumn mode already

Amie is here, just hasn't been the blog for a few days. You can always tell where she is in the cottage, even if we can't see her. FOLLOW THE NOISE OF HER SNORING.

Back one day

It is such a rainy day today, pleased we went out yesterday. By now the lane will be full of puddles, only passable by the horses that live there.

National Firework Competition Final at Plymouth Hoe

This is a clip of the winner, Pendragon Fireworks, Wales.

Pink elephants

Tony has just been outside in the garden to take a photo of our grapes , for our friends who wanted to see them. As they live in Kent, it's much easier to e-mail the photo. He said he has just caught the geese flying over on camera. It's getting rather dark now. But you can just make out the "V" of the flying geese.

I've also included the grapes and a plum., we have 3 on the plum tree this year. The tree is on a warning..... the back garden is so small....produce or go....

Anyone know a good recipe for grape jam? We also know someone who has grape vines, and have been promised their crop.

Colour outside

The rain has beaten our sweet peas. They are now beginning to seed. But now it's the sunflowers turn to come in out of the rain.

Grey

O.k. So this pic, is a bit non ??????? GREY... That is what it has been, the last week or so.
The garden has still grown, and everything in Soggibottom Cottage is fine, (apart from having to have the light on, and waste energy) BUTTTTT..

It's er... August.... AUGUST?

Rain, drizzellllleeeeeey bits......Where is the Sunshine. I know... it's moved to Dubai......
I love to chase turtles on reefs in the Maldives, but I'm here, and don't want to be anywhere else in the world. BUT........Come on Devon....

A few year ago I planted 5 banana seeds.

5 came up and grew. So that might have been in Surrey...This is Devon, things should grow.

One in 7 banana seeds came up this year. Is it ME?

Love where I live.

Come on sun S H I N E .

Not much left

We were starting to get fed up with courgettes.
Thanks to http://ziggwigs.blogspot.com. Where you can find the recipe.
The courgette soup was destined for the freezer, but it was so good we ate it.

I altered the recipe slightly, using vegetable stock and one pint of liquid so I didn't have to add cornflour. Loads of unpeeled courgettes, and a dash of homemade horseradish sauce. Yum.............

Bear time again

The latest bear.
Only going to make 4 from this pattern.
Two already have homes. So if you want one.
Let me know, they go to new homes quick enough that they don't gather dust in Soggibottom.

Audience of one

Shame the weather drenched the village Church fete, but we did watch one little fellow, we think he was the only one who could be bothered to sit on a wet seat. Or maybe the magic guy wasn't that great.

The last time we went to the fete was a couple of years ago. Blazing hot sunshine .. WHERE ?

Amie's boat at Plymouth

Saturday, 2 August 2008

Could we have found a cannon to fit our cannon ball?

Maybe not. These two look a tad too big. (we would never get them inside to sit beside the fireplace anyway).

Amie really wanted to go onto the beach yesterday, you might be able to tell in the way her lead is tight.

Last one of Plymouth....... I've forgotten to post Amie's boat. See it tomorrow......
