Wristwarmers pattern - FREE-
I have finished knitting Kiann's wristwarmer, scarf, hat and cardy. She asked for brown, so that is the colour I have done. Except I have added a flower on the hat and some sparkly beads on the scarf and wristwarmer.
It's starting to get cold and I have many people who have asked me to knit wristwarmers (which I will do for all that have already asked). Wrist warmers are so easy to knit here is the pattern.
It's a freebie....
I have tried to make it really easy, even Amie can follow this, if she were interested!
I have used all wool chunky, but you can mix wool. E.g.
1 strand of chunky or double knit with 1 or 2 strands of lightweight mohair.
For Kiann's wristwarmers I used 2 strands of chunky wool knitted together to make a thicker yarn. As long as you make sure you work through all the yarns for each stitch.
Make 2 the same.
Use 10 1/2 (7mm) needles. Cast on 30 stitches loosely.
Row 1............... Knit 2 *purl 2. knit 2. repeat from* to end.
Row 2...............Purl 2 *knit 2. purl 2. repeat from * to end.
Continue in rib until work measures 6in (15cm) Or longer if you wish.
End with a wrong side row.( purl2.knit2.purl2)
Place thumb....
1st Row.... Pattern 17 stitches, slip the last 4 stitches worked onto a stitch holder, pattern to the end.
2nd " Pattern 13 stitches, cast on 4 stitches. Pattern to the end of the row.
Continue in rib until work measures 1 1/2in (4cm) from thumb opening. Ending with a wrong side row.
Bind off/cast off loosely.
Thumb...........
Cast on 3 stitches with right side of work facing you. Knit 1. purl 2. Knit 1 across 4 stitches on the stitch holder, cast on 3 stitches. You should have 10 stitches.
Next row........Knit 2.( purl 2. knit 2) twice
next row.........Purl 2.(knit 2. purl 2) twice
Repeat the last 2 rows twice more. Bind off/cast off loosely in rib.
Easy Stuff.......
Have fun..... I'm not taking any more wristwarmer orders....... sorry!!!!!!!!
